About campaign
Comics are apt tools for sex education. They can be used to convey important messages in a light, humorous way.
These comic strips have been created as a joint effort between Sexpo and Maria Björklund to aim for direct speech and inclusivity. They portray multiple dimensions of sexuality, sexual habits, gender and relationships and the possibility of an individual to make their own choices.
The project began in the spring of 2015. The strips were planned and scripted by Sexpo’s diverse team. Maria Björklund’s comic album “Kaksin” provided the inspiration for the whole project, so it was easy to find an artist!
The project continued during the year 2016 with the production of four new comic strips in addition to plain language material in cooperation with Autism Foundation of Finland.
